Zybez Runescape Help

Link: http://www.zybez.net/

This site has a lot of useful information I can not fault it on any one aspect but a friend of mine did say the the quest guides were not extra good, this may have just been a one off but I don't use quest guides.

It has a great treasure trail locater that comes up in a small window so you can use it at the same time as finding a clue.

The real beauty of this site is that everything you could need is at hand if you use their Runescape client "SwiftSwitch", this makes changing world effortless and getting onto world 2 as easy as possible.

It is important that you download it from their website only to avoid any chance of dangerous code.

Their forum is friendly and some fairly useful information is normally available.

Rune Tips

Link: http://www.tip.it/runescape/

This is another popular fan site, it has an adequate monster database, the skill and quest guides are easy to read. there is also a good treasure trail help.

This site always loads a pop-under and something on the site slows down my computer so I can not use the treasure trail guide and do the clue on Runescape at the same time.

The forum is not as friendly as some but there are some well established members out there offering some good advice.

Tip-it!

Rune HQ

Link: http://www.runehq.net/

Rune HQ is probably one of the main Runescape fan sites.

It has a very good monster and item database and some good quest guides, unfortunately many of the special reports are outdated, better more up to date ones are available in the submissions forum, for some reason they like to keep the old guides and decline the more up to date guides.

The forums are very well moderated, there are some good well established members offering sound advice and the general feel of the group is friendly.
There is a price guide on the market place forums but these are rarely accurate, this is very difficult to keep on top of prices as they change almost daily so use them as a guide if you wish.

Password Security

The majority of people on Runescape get hacked by being careless, the chance of getting your account hacked is slim if you have an appropriate password that is only known to you.

Do not choose a password that is a single dictionary word, basic cracking software will try your user name with all the words in the dictionary, your password with a number on the end will only offer you a very limited bit more protection.

Having a word with numbers to replace letters is well known now and offers you limited protection.

Do not choose obvious passwords such as your dogs name, partners name your user name or your favourite car.

The safest way is to choose letters and numbers at random, although this will almost guarantee you not getting hacked by brute force it is not always easy to remember.

An easier way for a good security password is to Pick a word or 2 words and put random numbers in the word for example "Pot2ato0ca3t" this is easier to remember than random letters and not easy for cracking software to break.

The best password in the world will not keep your account secure if you tell anyone about it, it should be for your information only, do not tell friends, when you are playing with friends around cover your keyboard when logging in, if you have an argument with them what is to stop them giving your party hat collection to the first passing noob off of tut island.

Most accounts are lost by people not keeping their password secret.

Fletching for money

Fletching has always been the most popular way of making money in Runescape, it is not a quick way of making money, the amount of money you make from fletching is directly proportional to the amount of work you put into it.

This is the way I got my levels and made money from day 1.

First of all chop some normal logs and turn them into arrow shafts, you can do this anywhere because arrow shaft are stackable, do this until you can make oak long bows.

You can then either chop oaks and fletch oak long bows (Unstrung) or you can do as I did go to the local shop and buy all the logs you can fletch and make the best bow you can without stringing and sell back to the shop, I did this with every log I could fletch I toured the shops at Lumbridge, Fally, Varrock and Catherby and world hopped and repeated. I did this until I could fletch yew longs.

You need less than 10k because you make money selling back the unstrung bows to the shop, I made a lot of money buying other items I saw for sale in the shop.

When you get to yews buy all the yew logs you see in the shop but don't fletch until you can make yew longs, as soon as you can make yew longs then that is your opportunity to make some good money.

To make good money you will need to chop yew logs, pick flax and spin it into bow strings, then runecraft your own nature runes, you can buy the supplies but the money you make is not worth it unless you want free mage xp (High Alching the yew longs) and the fletching xp.

I suggest you buy flax as you get no xp for picking it at current prices flax is 100gp each, then spin it into bow strings to get crafting xp, you can then sell for 150gp and buy more flax or use it to make your yew longs.

I bought most of the supplies to get to 85 fletching and making magic long bows, at this level you can make money but again only if you make some of the supplies, chopping mage logs is slow but you can make 1k on each log you cut, if you make your other supplies you can make 1.5k each and have free mage xp.
