It was a pain in the Adze but I love it

I got my Inferno Adze as you may have read, cant say I enjoyed doing the mini game much but I had great company when I was getting prepared for it, I was alone all so alone when I lit them.

The Inferno Adze is supposed to be the same as a Rune Pickaxe and a Dragon wood cutting axe, although I cant confirm yet it appeared to cut and mine the same.

I tried it on Magic trees and was great seeing the occasional log shoot past me ear and catch fire, as everyone knows magic trees are notoriously slow to get logs so after a couple of inventories I left and tried yews, its a bit faster than mages and more logs whizzing past my ear but still painfully slow.

Now willows, the Adze loves willows, chopping willows I estimate about 30% of logs catch fire and burn, it could be more sometimes you would have 4 or 5 catch fire in a row, willows chop quickly so you really notice the amount of burning logs.

I don't like firemaking im not a great fan of woodcutting but to be able to do the 2 at the same time with minimal effort makes it more bearable, powering on willows with the Adze means more time chopping and less time banking and no time burning, all of this equals faster xp in the skills I do not enjoy so much.

The Adze will not get broken by an ent it simply wont let you cut, I believe it is the same with smoking rocks when mining.

Its nice having an axe that does the job of 2 axes but you cant use it at miscellanea so you still need a dragon or rune WC axe, and a rune pic for level 3 clues.

This is a great update for me another thumbs up for Jagex.

What a day 99 slayer and an Inferno Adze

You may be aware of my quest for the illusive slayer cape, although the longest skill to train it was the easiest because I really enjoyed doing it, I made loads of money in the process but the cash really was a secondary benefit, slayer is just lots of fun.

My son wanted to see me get 99 slayer so had to get the cape before he went to bed, I had 7k xp to get and enough slayer points to get 10k from the slayer xp option from the rewards tab, I let my friends that were on know about my pending 99 and teled home for some reason (I forget why now) on the way I had an exam, doh! there I was most of my friends waiting and me stood there back at school.

I used my gloves and teled to a dank dungeon below Shilo and ran over to where a small crowd had gathered by Duradel, I like to say hi to everyone personally and acknowledge them being there, thanking them for taking the time to come, I asked Duradel if I could trade in my rewards, being the perfect gentleman he said yes and sparkes flew, woot another level, left the chat dialogue and woot fireworks another 99 for me and everyone around totally aware of it, this was my time, I have never had a gathering for 99 before and I have had a few 99's but slayer was different, I worked hard and long for it and it is not the most common cape.

There was a friend there with a big hammer, my son asked what it was and I had wondered but never got around to asking, it was an Inferno Adze, that meant as much to me as a big red hammer, so asked what it was for and apparently it was from the new beacon minigame, I had the fire ring but never got around to doing the rest plus I needed another firemaking level to make 92 to light the last beacon, Karen said she would help me do it, I had 850ish mage logs and needed to burn just over 700 for my next level.

After all my friends went home Karen and I went off to Port Phasmywatsit and started to burn, im not a fan of firemnaking but it was a lot more fun and easier trying to outburn a friend, I got my 92 very quickly and was ready to go for the hammer, I repaired most of the ladders previously so just needed to repair the wind break on one of the beacons.

Trading logs we managed to get all the beacons filled with logs and off I went to light them, the route I took was
Trollheim teleport then run through god wars to light the first beacon, this had mage logs.
Went down shortcut and ran north to light the Ice Plateau beacon, again mage logs, the god wars cold damages stats so a super restore is required to bring firemaking level back up.
I ran back south to level 40 wilderness and lit the beacon there.
Ran to level 20 wilderness to tele using the glory then Trollheim teleport, used the shortcut to the east and lit the fire there.
Went down the shortcut to the wildy and ran south to level 14 and lit that beacon.
Used games neclace to burthorpe games room ran a small way north to light that beacon.
Used a goblin village teleorb and lit the beacon there.
Used combat bracelet to the monastery and ran east to light the beacon by the black knights fortress.
Teled to Edgville with the glory lit the beacon in the wildy and ran east along the ditch to light 2 more beacons one by the GE the other by the Lumber yard.
Ran to the lime mine by the rag and bone man lit that one then ran to the becaon by the salve at the start of the All Fired up quest and lit that beacon.

Job done, didn't take that long once the preparation was done, used normal mage book and had infinite run from the ogre village quest.

I will write a proper guide when I get around to it but this should help most people.

What is the most expensive trash on Runescape

Is Runescape going into recession? some disturbing facts about the economy.

After every update there are players moaning because the economy is going to crash, normally I take the mickey out of them and ask them why they don't quit.

There are definite signs that the economy is going down, not supple hints but big huge jumps in price in a downward trend across the board, I am not talking about resources but with regard to the more expensive items such as armours.

I had a slayer task for Iron dragons, in fact my last 5 slayer tasks have been Iron Dragons, when I did my first task I missed the task complete fanfare and carried on, it must have been 10 to 20 dragons later that I got a Draconic Visage, woot I thought this is a nice bit of cash to buy my Armadyl set that I wanted, how wrong was I, the Draconic Visage is unsellable, the price of the dragonfire shield was 18m and dropped to 16m in a day, the Visage sells for just over 21m, who is going to buy a visage for 21m to make it into a shield worth 16m and if their not 90 smithing pay 1m for the privilege?
It gets worse, I decided to sell my Dragonfire Shield as I put it on GE it came up with the message, you can not sell this on the grand exchange, wtf, I looked a bit further and I could buy a DFS for 16m but I couldn't sell mine, its a god job I never converted my visage or I would have been stuck with 2 shields and wasted 1m building it.

So what now do I hi alch my visage, I cant sell it as a visage because of the price and I cant sell the DFS because GE wont accept it, all you guys wanting a visage drop forget it its trash, albeit trash worth 21m, ive left mine on GE at minimum price hoping that the price will increase.

I was given a hint that the merchants have dumped the DFS so the price has dropped, I can not vouch for this as being the case but things do seem to add up, the price dropping drastically over a few days, and the ability to not sell on the GE could be a way for Jagex to maintain stability, if it is the case the merchants are spoiling the game for the good players and causing Jagex to bring in unpopular measures to counteract the mindless actions of others.

When will people learn that they are not doing any good by trying to abuse the system they are just risking the free trade and stability of the game for good players, the problem is Jagex will get the blame for it like the pkin and RWT updates, people wanting to cheat at the game made a huge effect on the rest of the players, its just lucky that the pk and rwt brought a great number of updates that benefited everyone.

So you may think im over reacting over 1 item the visage, maybe but I have also noticed that the price of Bandos has dropped the price of sara swords, Armadyl armour and swords has also dropped, you may expect this but by over 1m for some items every day is worrying, I had a zammy hilt as a drop and made the godsword by buying the shards, despite the godswords being carp I kept it because it was a drop that I got on my own when they were new, recently the price shot up from 40m to 60m so I sold it, a week or 2 later the price had dropped to 40m again and the Bandos was 30m so I bought the Bandos, the price for Bandos gs is now 21m.

I was saving up for the Armadyl armour but at the rate it is dropping I will be losing out big time very quickly, the Armadyl armour/weapons dropped a combined total of over 5m since yesterday, however I do not need to save up for it now.

Many of you will be thinking thats great we can wear some good armour for a very low price, think about when you have trained for many years to get good levels to kill big bosses, you risk life and limb and end up with a lootshare of 500k for a great drop, is it worth it? I think it is worth it just for the fun but many players play for cash and its not so great for them.

I don't think this will make a great deal of impact on the game but the motivation of good monster drops will be a thing of the past very soon.

A money making motivational mention from a minor

I have a son who plays Runescape, he is only 9 and doesn't have the patience to stick at a skill for a long time, because of this he doesn't get a great deal of Runescape money to spend and gets frustrated because he doesn't know how to look after his cash when he has it.
He is very kind and before the GE he would often give stuff to people just because they asked him for it, he never regrets giving stuff away but gets upset when he has nothing and he wants to buy something.

He had the idea to go to the HAM headquarters and pick pocket the HAM guards under the trapdoor that you get access to after starting Death to the Dorgeshuun quest, if you pick pocket the Guards by the store rooms you can get keys, these keys open chests and you can get prizes from the chests, cash gems and jewellery are common prizes, Daniel sells the Jewellery at the local shop and can get a lot of cash for it, one of the prizes was a clue scroll.
I watched him as he did the clue and at the end he got a spiked helmet and some other bits and pieces, he was a bit disappointed because the helm looks a bit nooby, I told him to stick it on geBay and see what he got for it, he did and got 302K for it very quickly, that soon cheered him up and he bought full rune and a D scimmy, now he could train his slayer easier.

He trained slayer with his new armour and weapon and managed to get Jellies 3 times in a row, on his second task he got a clue, Level 3, I watched him as he did the clue, he was a bit nervous at entering the wildy because of the revenants but luckily all went well and he never saw any, he had the last casket ready to open and when he opened it there were 2 Saradomin blessed dragonhide body armours, he took them to GE and was amazed that they sold for about 740k each, he now had enough to buy a whip.

This is a Rags to Riches story of someone who really deserved a good drop, the same can happen to you.

Party Pete drop party 54 million

I was training my summoning and as I returned to the bank to get my granite blocks I saw announced that there was a 54 million drop part at the party room, I have seen drop parties for 200k up to 10m and not seen one worth visiting since the anti pking and RWT trade cap protests so I thought I would pop along and take a look, I used the tele that the banker offer you instead of walking the few block to the party room (I was in Fally).

I arrived to see thousands of people all stood around hoping to get some of the bounty, lag was bad as you could imagine but I wandered around waiting for the drop to start, lag was getting worse but I guessed everyone would be in the same situation so it would still be fair, the countdown started to reach zero, I was stood ready to click and as zero was reached the computer froze, no one moving the picture still there not resorting back to the login screen as it should if logged out so I took a screenie.

Party Pete Pileup

There were my hopes of becoming a millionaire dashed in an instant, fighting back the tears :D I logged back in after restarting Swiftkit and it was all over and I returned to summoning.

From this experience I learnt that Party Pete is perhaps a crook and uses the Party Room to swindle disillusioned players out of their hard earned cash, he collects their cash and logs everyone out so he can sell the proceeds to finance his lavish lifestyle, I suspect he learnt this from the noobs who kicked players from their houses when they were poisoned or dropped items on the floor when construction was first introduced.
