Abyssal Demon fighting and whip drops

I have started this post to highlight a fact that has not been so clear to me until recently.
How random is random, I was 97 attack and I wanted to get 98, Abyssal Demons are the best monster to kill by far, not only for xp but they also drop Abyssal Whips without doubt the best general purpose weapon on Runescape, so I wore full Guthans with a whip and a dragon square shield I took super set and went to the abyssal space from Zanaris.
Abyssal Demons at the slayer Tower are better because they are more concentrated so it is easier to find another one after you kill your last but it gets very busy and you can often fight over demons.
In the Abyssal Space there is a place that is one block north of the fairy ring that you enter through, once you get there there are 2 Abyssal Demons that you can attack, without losing your time tolerance from the Abyssal Guardians.
This place is getting popular as well If you go into a world and there is someone there change world, it is not worth fighting over a demon.
As soon as you get there you are attacked by the Abyssal Guardians, these either range or mage and it is rare to get to attack the Demon before they attack you, you need to kill the Guardian before you can attack the Demon, as soon as the Guardian is dead attack the Demon as the Guardians re spawn very quickly, once you have been there a while you will be tolerated by the Guardians and you can concentrate on the Dancin' Demons.

There is a Demon that spawns in the central area you can attack him and just dance around until he is dead, there is a Demon to the east that can be attacked but beware he can dance you out of your safe zone and you will need to earn the trust of the Guardians again, the way I do it is to attack this demon only if he is to the east and within the direct line of the large space that I am fighting in, do not go south or north to get him, as soon as you hit him run back into your safe area and dance until he is dead.
The reason I wrote this post primarily was to highlight how random random is, I did get a bit carried away and ended up explaining the whole process of Dancin' Demon Demise, sorry couldn't avoid that bit of alliteration.
So to cut a short story long on day 1 and 2 I put in a lot of hours work and to my surprise I got no whips not even 1, I did get a clue and about 5 Rune Chains which I high alched, as I said I was using Guthans so I did not take any food, just attacked and switched to spear when I was at half health, when I healed fully I would wield my whip and d square again.
On Day 3 I was fighting for half an hour and got a whip, 20 minutes later I got another whip, later on that day I got 3 more whips, so in 2 days got no whips another day I got 5 whips in just a few hours, how random is that?

And I eventually got 98 attack, now only over 1m xp to 99 attack, time for a break I think.

There are 2 places the Abyssal Demons live, the first is the slayer tower in Canafis.
Enter Canafis area via the temple on the Salve (East of Varrock), this is the temple you killed the big dog for the Priest in Peril quest, if you haven't killed the dog you cant get to Canafis or the Slayer Tower.
Assuming you have done the quest when you leave the lower level of the temple take the path north, this will take you to the slayer tower, the first monster you will come across are the crawling hands (there are only 2 aggressive monsters in the slayer tower and I will make you aware of these as you go along).
There is an agility shortcut in the second room if you have the required level you can climb up there, (Beware that brings you out with the aberrant specters these are aggressive and dangerous), if you haven't got the required agility level continue to walk around the rooms past the Banshee's and up the stairs.
The next floor you walk around and when you enter the room with the Infernal Mages there is another shortcut, if you can use this one do so as the other options of using the stairs are dangerous.
If you don't have the agility level walk around the rooms and past the Bloodvelds, in the big Bloodveld room there is a door, this door is to the Aberrant Specters, Be carefully these are very dangerous, if you can not wear a nosepeg you stand a very good chance of dying, a tip is to use a busy world so all the specters are being attacked if they hit you they use mage so they can get you from a distance and can attack you for a long way.
Just inside the door is the shortcut from the crawling hands, if you use the shortcut it is the same as using the door you need to run west then south and enter the stairs as quickly as possible, taking a hit from the specters without a nose peg will effect your stats severely, if you use the agility shortcut to get up and you take a hit you will need to take the stairs back down.
The spectres are the worst once you have got past them and up to the last floor the worst is over, the next room has Gargoyles in these are aggressive and will hit you melee style so wear protect from meele if you have it or just run like hell to the door at the north side enter the door and you are now safe.
The other side of the door is the Nechryael and the top of the agility shortcut from the infernal mages, just walk around the rooms and you will be with the Abyssal Demons.
Watch the players fighting and tell them how great they are if you wish but don't ask for free whips, it has taken a lot of work for them to get that level and noobs asking for a free whip is a pain after a while.
This is however a good way for the lower levels to get some extra cash, a lot of things you may value are left by the higher level players feel free to pick them up and sell if you wish.
When the quest first came out you were skulled getting to this place but that was changed the same day, the monsters here are not as concentrated as the Abyss so it is a little safer if you wish to get pouches for runecrafting.
