i suppose you emptied the charges in your shield before trying to sell? it's untradable otherwise.
and yeah these recent price drops have been pretty harsh, but i bought everything i really need ages ago, with no intention of selling, and (luckily? :)) never seem to get any good drops myself.

I can confirm that the radical price change of the dragonfire is indeed due to merchants. Although not a merchant myself I am a member of a merchanting clan and you will be glad to know they recently 'buy out' and 'dump' items in a cycle. They fire the price up by buying as many of an item as they can for max price then sell them quickly at minimum before the price drops (I'm sure you already know this) so the way I see it these merchants actually add another dimension to the game.

For those players willing to look on the grand exchange and observe the item graphs it affords them a much larger price. It resembles stock exchanges in a way.

As for Armadyl dropping I can confirm this is NOT due to merchants but because of a sort of domino effect. I'm unsure how they start but the outcome is that the price begins dropping which throws those who own the particular item into a panic. This leads to a large mass of people selling their item which just intensifies the price dive. Armadyl will eventually level out and perhaps raise some more once it has settled.

I am unsure why godswords have dropped so radically as they have not been dumped except for the bandos godsword, perhaps the same domino effect.

You need to remove the charges from your visage before selling.

I do enjoy your articles but please before going off on a rant do research the details. Your beloved visage will soon be back well over 20m (rose 600k+ today) and I suggest you watch the trends and sell when the price peaks.

Rory thanks for your input.

I have been made aware of the merchanting buying, dumping process, I do think its a rather sad way to play the game, I am OK because I have surplus money but to make the price increase artificially is unfair for the lower level player who has just saved enough to buy stuff, when they have saved even more money to have the price drop as soon as they bought it they lose out big time.

But that is the difference with players, I play to help others, I like to be nice to people and not take advantage of them, that is why I regularly post on forums and have this blog, even though I am a wealthy high level players if I help a low level player have a better Runescape life then I have achieved something worthwhile.

I thought I commented earlier it was the charges that stopped me selling the DFS and through some stoke of fate I sold my Visage for 21.5m yesterday, the DFS was still 16.5m and because I didn't know (forgot) about the charges I saved myself 5m, I bought my full Armadyl at minimum and well happy walking around like a big duck, haven't had a slayer task to test it yet but the mage defence bonus looks good.

Steve,
I have another theory...I hope my english is good enough to explain it.
- There are a lot of people seeking for godwars stuffs, rich enough to think about buying them
- There are a lot of people fighting for godwars stuffs in lootshare world. Meaning numerous godwars stuffs in GE.

As the price of these stuffs is really high, seekers which think about them, sell a lot of their valuable stuffs like draconic at any price to get fast cash, resulting in a significant price drop...

The same process may be applied to "older" valuable stuffs like dragon med helm (64k coins today !)
