Back to my Roots Runescape quest

I started the Back to my Roots quest yesterday, quite an interesting quest, not extra long but still quite fun.

The aim of the quest is to get a root from the middle of a vine with nasty monsters, one being a level 51 soldier ant that can hit 15's, that is 1 wicked punch for such a little insect, just like real life I guess. many of the animals there are venomous so anti poison is advised.

There is no obvious destination in the vine but you need to make your way across the water to an area where there are patches you can dig up then take a cutting and put it in a sealed pot.

You go back to Ardougne and plant it, it goes ape and starts attacking people, it is then your responsibility to chop it down with a wc axe, it took me ages before I even damaged it then it started to lose bits and eventually sat there waiting for me to finish it off, secateurs (sp) were used for that I think.

Some very good xp in slayer, wc and farming as a reward for this quest.

I was given a seed to plant to grow my own which I believe to be the minigame, the gardener will look after it for some wildblood hops, I never had any so just let it grow, still waiting so not sure what to do with it yet.

After completing this quest you are left with a hand and no indication what to do with it, you need to return to the maze on Karamja and kill the monsters until you get the rest of his body, left and right arm, left and right legs, torso and a foot, 7 parts with the hand from the quest, speak to Zavistic the wizard at the wizards tower in Yanille and he will ask for more evidence to convict Sandy, he will if you want tele you to sandy's office where you need to search his desk and take his diary, return this to Zavistic and give it to him, he will give you 100 laws as a thank you, you are then able to bury the remains in a cut scene and you recieve 10k mage xp.

Other News
Just a little taster for the very near future I have a guide on Herblore written by a level 99 herbalist, its very comprehensive and covers every aspect from getting herbs and secondaries to making them and return on investment issues, I am just adding the finishing touches now but it makes a very interesting read.

Slayer series
My slayer reports have taken a back seat because of my computer crash but I will be resuming shortly.

This is becoming a habit, I think I could get used to it!

My computer went down big time so I have been unable to add any posts to the blog recently, it is working now just requires 3 years worth of configuring to get it as I need, thanks to the delightful Microsoft I cant just replace parts I had to build a whole new machine just to be high enough spec to run their current operating system.

Any way I can now use my business computer as well as my notebook downstairs.

You may all know that I like slayer, you may also know that I have had a lot of good luck recently with 2 Visages in 2 weeks, well I am pleased to say my luck continues.

I had about 128 Spiriual Warriors, these are located in the Godwars dungeon one of my favourite places on Runescape, I have had enough of catching sharks so trotted off to do my slayer task, whenever I do slayer there on monsters I can range I take my godwars boss equipment, its a habit I got into and will stick with for as long I draw breath,

After every 40 monster kills I go into the boss room and take on K'ril tele then return for my next 40, First time I went in I killed K'ril and got 19k cash and 15 deaths from stan and his other guardian, second time I went in I got some pots super attack and strength and a bit of cash from stan, next time my bow was on 1/10 I got squished and teled leaving K'ril at about 20hp.

I returned again got my 40 and went in, I killed him quite quickly then stan and had quite a few sharks left over, this time I did not want to fight K'ril again in that run or any other of his guardians look at what I got.

I got a Zammy hilt current price 40 to 45m
I got a Zammy hilt current price 40 to 45m, not a bad drop for a slayer task.

Although not the most expensive hilt the zammy hilt is still one of the most expensive items on Runescape, current price 40 to 45 million gp.

I wonder what will be next perhaps time to kill some more mith dragons.

I went back and had another go at K'ril and he slaughtered me hitting regular 39 to 49 hits, I ate all my food and teled leaving him at around half health, he obviously bears a grudge and did not want to give me another good drop.

K'ril your days are numbered im coming back to finish my job.

So far main drops from K'ril.

Rune legs about 4 pairs
DDP++ x 3
Sword Shard
Steam Staff
and a hilt

and loads of 19k and carpy drops.

Much shall have more, fade to grey as a clue (40ish this may make sense)

Ok another eventful weekend financially wise, you may remember about 2 weeks ago I had a very good weekend and got about 30m worth of drops, well this weekend was not quite as good but still well worth getting out of bed for.

I had 25 Steel dragons for slayer, so I got dressed for dragons and trotted off to the Dungeon for a short visit, I have lagged a lot recently and lost connection but I still wore my best dragon hunting gear, firebreath shield 26m fury 4m dragon boots 600k and whip 1.5m oh and ring of wealth.

Started killing them and after about 15 dragons there was a rather large looking drop, would you believe it another draconic visage, some people kill dragons for days and never get 1 I kill about 200 in 2 weeks and get 2.

My second Visage in 2 weeks
My second Visage in 2 weeks, I could quite happily make a habit of this.

I finish my task with about 55m worth of items on me, I don't need the visage so I went to world 2 to sell it, not sure where to sell it so I stood by the 3rd age spot and a player asks me where the visage place is, I put up my visage and she puts up 25m, we both accept and hey presto instant multi millionaire again, I now have 72 million in the bank and my original dragon fire shield, all this by playing for fun and not playing for money.

I am often asked how many Dust devils to kill for a d chain, well the simple answer is 1 you can kill 1 and get a d chain, in fact one of my friends did just that got a d chain on his first kill, unfortunately all drops are random so you can get 2 d chains in a row, you may also never get one, its luck of the draw, ive had 2 visages close together I could get 2 in my next assignment or I may never get one again.

Wearing a ring of wealth certainly helps, I have had hundreds of rare drops and the row is always on my finger, some people say it doesn't, my bank says otherwise.

How to ask for help

Link: http://jaxana.blogspot.com/2007/09/how-to-ask-for-help.html

I was at Yanille having just logged on and a player asked me for some help, I am usually happy to help but it would have been nice to have been on a few seconds first, being a level 125 people assume you are there like player mods to serve them and if you are busy or don't reply quick enough you are stuck up.

I asked him what he wanted and he told me what had happened, I said OK what do you want to know and went into my bank to get changed, when I came out of the bank about 20 seconds later he started to wander off and I asked again how he wanted help, just after this message came out from me he said dw noob (As in don't worry noob), having seen my sentance he came back and told me again what he had done, my reply this time was straight forward "Sorry mate I can not help you I am a noob" this was met with shouts of lol and haha from the other players who could see how ungrateful the other player was.

This highlighted a post I read on another players blog that morning about how to ask for help, it was a great read and sums up nicely how to and not get help from other players, take a look at his post by clicking here and learn how to get the most out of Runescape.

Doh silly me I forgot to give credit to a good friend Vaskor I found the above post from the Runescape Readers Digest vaskor is the author, its a great site that features regular interesting Runescape Related Articles and some of mine as well, He hasn't asked for this credit but I feel he deserves it, nice one Vaskor and thanks.

A tale of 2 chickens

My opinion of pkers is very low as you may be aware, I just thought I would highlight again how low you can go with this next little story.

I had a level 3 clue and it was in the wildy about as far from safety as possible,I had better things to do so I dropped it and carried on with my slayer tasks, I got another clue and it didn't start in the wildy so I did the first 2 clues and the third was the same place as the last clue, I really couldn't be bothered to do it but I thought I would get my dds and walk the whole length of the wildy through milti combat areas and do it for a bit of excitement.

I got my black dragon hide, dds, anti firebreath shield, super potted and started to walk, there were loads of white dots and I just walked through them no one even thinking of attacking me, as I got to the deep wildy a level 112 or there abouts saw me and started to follow me he had a magic achievement cape on so was 99 mage, im 96 so I wasn't intimidated, I can do all that he could do.

He started to attack, I wasn't bothered if I died so didn't run like I normally do when doing clues I turned around and hit back, I speced him with my dds and hit very hard, I put Piety on and speced again and again and hit him down to what must have been about 10hp, he was eating like a lunatic and I kept getting him down with my dds, if I had my whip he would be a bundle of bones and a few other items, whip and dds springs to mind.

Then out of the blue another player runs over and starts attacking me with his whip and I die, had he attacked me on his own and won or died I would respect him as a player having to have another player to hold his hand when he got hurt is a bit lame.

I understand that the wildy is the wildy there are no rules and anyone can get killed there, Im just highlighting that pkers are the cowardly side of Runescape.

I am a skiller I went to the wildy on my home world (69 a pker world) I walked the whole length of the wildy mostly multi combat all on my own, into the deepest wildy near the clan war area and was attacked by a player who had his big brother there to kiss his knees if he got hurt, my opinion is that the wildy is one massive chicken coop.
