Training Agility

People tend to hate agility, I am not really surprised so many people do not know how to train it effectively.
When done properly it is quick and fun to train, the first few levels are the worst as you can only go round and round a course to get agility up.
To start use the gnome stronghold course, this is very easy but does get a bit boring stay here until you can get into the barbarian outpost then stay there or use the gnome course for a change, continue until you get to level 37 agility, you may choose to get a bit higher level but I stopped at 37.
This is where the fun starts, grab a bag of cakes and 230gp, in the early stages take a teleport (This is not so important as you have the Lumbridge home teleport now). just in case you are out of food and cant get to the exit.
Only wear Boots of lightness, wearing anything else will cause you to fail many more obstacles, I wore a camel mask at level 70'ish agility and was being beaten to the post by lower agility level players without every time. wearing Boots of lightness helps you fail obstacles less.

So you have your cakes and your 230gp 30gp to get across from Ardougne to Karamja and 200gp to get into the agility arena, you may also want to take some super energy pots in your early stages, agility pots only give you a small boost and wears off quickly, you will fall a lot to start with and will spend a lot of time running around the lava pit, your energy will soon run out and you will end up walking to get the next pillar.
You can not complete the spinning blade obstacle until you are 40 agility so you must avoid them until at least 40, also avoid the darts at any level (they reduce your effective agility level) I went down from level 65 to 40 in one attempt at getting past the darts.

To last any length of time you need to be at low hp level, you should remain between 8 and 18 hp, you take less damage at low hp level and therefore your food will last longer, thats why you take cakes instead of fish so not to bring up your hp too much. this is not without its dangers you can get carried away trying to complete an obstacle and not notice your hp level getting dangerously low especially if others are trying at the same time, watch your hp you don't want to lose your hard earned tickets.

Saving your tickets until you get 1k will make your agility level soar, not many people have the will power to do this, even trading in a few tickets at low levels will bring up some nice increases in agility levels making it easier when you go back.
People often say that the wilderness course is better when you can do it, my opinion is it is boring going round in circles, the only thing that makes it more interesting is when a pker comes along and give you a quick tele back to Fally.
It is nice for a change as is the werewolf course and Ape Atol but in my eyes is just too boring.
People often tell me that its a lot better at the wilderness course, I then ask them their agility level, after they tell me I say I would be too if it wasn't for Brimhaven, I am 81 agility at time of writing and I am in the top 1k agility level in the Runescape high scores.

I'm 51 agility, and I started the arena thinking I would get 1000 tickets. Thing is, I tend to fail the high level obstacles (spinning blades...grrr). Should I just go for 100 and make those obstacles a little easier, or stick it out to 1000?
Thanks for a great blog!
Saying you're right based on your level is plain stupid. Just because you grinded a skill doesn't mean you did it in an efficient manner.
Whether I did it in an efficient way has no bearing on the fact that I would not be my current level (89) had it not been for Brimhaven, I am right because that is the way I found easy to train not because of my level.
