Speed training slayer
Slayer is easily my favourite skill, I haven't written a guide yet for my favourite skill so I am abouts to put things right.
My current level is 93.
The best slayer master for your level is the master who is assigned for you, your current assigned slayer master is the one you see when you use the enchanted gem.
If some of the tasks are often too hard or you dont like killing them change your master for a lower one.
You need to assess each task you are given and decide what you need to wear how much food to take what attack style you need to use to kill them and any special equipment.
Some monsters use mage attack, aberrant specters, infernal mages etc so you need to wear armour with a high mage defence, dragon hide, Karils, also you will come across monsters that melee with a mage type attack, these include jellies, bloodvelds etc, with these you need to use mage defence armour as well.
Some monsters are easy to range or mage, bloodvelds, turoths, etc ranging these will allow you to stay longer on your task and not need to keep going back for food, although ranging and maging can take longer to complete a task you will gain valuable xp in those attack styles.
There are 2 rings I recommend you wear one is the Ring of Wealth and the other the ring of life. the Ring of wealth will help you get better drops and the ring of life if you are attacking a monster that you are not familiar with or you have a bad connection.
If you get an assignment that you are not comfortable with take cheap armour that you can replace easily and give it a go, many difficult task are not difficult when you get to know them, if you do know them and you are still not happy you can change your task with the Burthorpe Slayer Master (Provided he didn't give you the task) he will give you an easy task that you must complete.
So you have your assignment you have decided what to wear and you know how to get there, you also need to decide how to stay there as long as possible without having to leave for supplies, for many melee type monsters if you can afford it Guthans is ideal for many slayer tasks, if you seriously want to train slayer you need to get a set of Guthans as soon as you can afford it.
If you cant afford Guthans sharks are preferred for the higher level monsters but your best food available is OK for lower levels.
With slayer monsters you get great drops and sometimes your inventory cant hold all your drops, in this situation you can take a bunch of nats and some fire runes and alch the drops so you can pick up more, some people use a fire staff but this involves swapping weapons and swapping back again this slows things down, using fires and nats you can alch while you are fighting and carry on.
Be aware that burying bones, alching during or teleing after an assignment will often bring on random events, so be aware if you are fighting a dangerous monster to get in a safe place before doing it, it is not rare to tele after a metal dragon task as your anti fire and prayer pot runs out you tele away to be grabbed by bob or another random that takes you away, you are then sent back into the middle of the dragons lair no anti fire pot no prayer and the dragons are aggressive to you immediately.
Some monsters drop coins, you can pick these up if you wish but it will slow down your task quite considerably, although you can get a fair amount of cash on an assignment if you leave it and get onto your next monster or next task you may get a good drop a rune full helm for instance you can alch this and have more than you would get from picking up coins, there is no monster where it is worth picking up coins to increase your cash flow.
So for speed and cashflow use fire runes not a staff to alch and don't pick up money drops.
Clues
Clues are very common when training slayer, they become a pain in the bottom at times, for speed it is best to drop them, this is fine for level 1 and 2 clues there is rarely anything of value but when you get to level 3 clues things get a bit different, you can get an awful amount of cash from some of the items, I will do most clues when finishing my task, when I first had level 3 clues I would stop the task and do them, it is not uncommon to get 3 level 3 clues in 1 assignment, my first or second level 3 clue I got a robin hood hat worth over 3m now but that is rare you normally get rune armour and black dragon hide armour, worth a bit but not worth the time taken to do it.
When you have completed your task tele to your master and get your next task.
Summary for speed and cash
take nats and fires to alch drops
Wear appropriate armour for the monster
Take a quick tele or wear ROL
Don't pick up money or clues
This is just a brief summary of slayer I will add detailed guides for every step of the way when time allows, leave a comment if you wish for me to clarify any points and I will add that guide first.
