Know your rubbish on Runescape
No your not rubbish as a Runescape player, but you should know what is rubbish on Runescape, new players and old players are guilty of not knowing what is rubbish on Runescape its not just restricted to the newb, I am a level 136 at the moment and I discovered that something I was leaving on the floor after killing a monster was probably more valuable than some of the items I picked up.
"I wanna tell you a story" (A free cookie to anyone who tells me who's catch phrase that was) I was training summoning and just got level 79 Summoning.

I could now make titans, not sure if they are good or not but I decided to make some, the secondary ingredient is elemental talismans (not the "elemental talisman" but air, water, earth, fire talismans), I thought great this is OK I will go to GE and buy some, they used to cost 5GP so thought I would buy 100 they cant be much more now, wrong they were over 1.5K each for fire and water, so all these talismans I left on the floor could have added up to a pretty penny, OK 1.5k to me is not a lot of money but when I was a newb killing the dark mages south of Varrock 1.5k was a lot, you new guys don't know your born nowadays, if you see a tally pick it up, even the cheap ones at 300gp are worth picking up as a low level it soon adds up.
Another thing I did as a mid level was attack tortoises, good training xp and some good drops, I used to leave the shells because they had no use, now summoning has come out they have a use and the value of them is just under 6K, when I was first able to make the war tortoise I couldn't buy shells for 6k so there is a demand for an expensive item that is not being met.
Killing some monsters like jellies drop steel battle axes and 2 handers, a lot of players leave these on the floor, taking hi alchemy runes and alching these will give you more than the value of the runes, so even if its 20gp more than the cost of the runes its free money but more important its free mage xp, even if you just use the money to buy more nats to continue its a win win situation, test things that are dropped to see if its worth more than the cost of runes and alch every time you get one as a drop after that, its not as repetitive as alching yew longs where you always make a loss and it soon adds up.
Some people will slow down training to pick up 40gp from a monster drop and leave items that are worth a lot more.
Next time you get a drop think is it used for summoning herblore or any other skill and could it be worth something, I pick up all my tallies now and stick it on GE.
