At last mission acomplished

Finally this little chapter in my Runescape career has been completed I have reached the title of Runescape Master Chef.
Yesterday I gained a cooking level I had run out of sharks half way through and started the new quest Animal Magnetism, it was taking a bit longer as I was writing my quest guide as I went along, my friend logged in and I got about 8k sharks off of him, that was the end of my quest so back to the Rogues Den to continue my cooking marathon.

So apart from the little break to start the quest I have stayed in this dingy hole for days, only cooking except for the odd random or 60, I gained a lot of range xp by the use of the Genies.

Anyway I am fast approaching my goal the sharks are diminishing and my xp is rising quickly, another level.

About 400 sharks before my goal was completed we had a power cut, power was down for about an hour, how frustrating.
It was a long day and I was getting a little weary, but I persevered and the goal was achieved. woooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooot, wooooooooooooooooooooooot.
My first level 99 done in a few days, 35k sharks cooked.

Having got my first 99 off I trot to get my cape, my 99 skill cape for cooking, woooot.
Killed a goblin to get a chefs hat and tele'd to Varrock to walk to the cooking guild.

All that work and quite an achievement, dead happy made a level 99 skill and made a lot of money in the process, does it get better than this?
Cooking, Cooking and More Cooking, Muppet, Muppet and more Muppet

I have continued my cooking marathon, the victory of 99 cooking is within grasp.
A little tip to help anyone with the same task is to use a calculator like the one available with Swift Switch, If you look at the xp especially when in the last few levels it can put you off totally, instead look at the amount of sharks you need to cook, it is easier to appreciate your progress.
When I started this task I needed 35k sharks to be cooked, but I kept watching the amount of sharks and it goes down quite quickly, every time you enter another decade it is quite an achievement, when I hit 29k sharks that was a major breakthrough, then 19 hey where making good progress, I hit 15K and I'm well over half way there.
Its better to watch a number going down than going up when you have a task to complete.

Now I have not done much work to get these sharks, I have had a friend to do it for me.
This is where the Muppet bit in the title comes in, he had a trade with a player in wildy was pked and lost some sharks his words were about 300k's worth so not a great deal, there is no earthly reason to trade in the wildy, if someone in the wildy wants to trade with you ask them to come out, if they wont they are going to kill or get a friend to kill you and take your stuff.
If you meet this situation you have a choice, get your ancients magic and go own them, ignore them or go and give them your items. I know which I choose.
And now for the second Muppet, he went to world 2 and did a trade, he was scammed and lost about 3m worth of sharks, the reason for him getting scammed was he got a bit carried away and was making lots of money and getting good deals, he forgot on this occasion to check the second trade screen properly, he accepted and was scammed big time.
This highlights the importance of always taking your time do not get greedy and check everything twice (this is how father Christmas works and he is pretty wicked at it, ok he only works one night a year but he gets one hell of a lot done in that time).
He was quite apologetic about it and was irate and very annoyed at being scammed of my items, when it happens put it into context, all he lost was about 3k sharks about 3m worth, all it is is a picture with a number on it, I lost a few pictures with numbers on the scammer may well lose his account, I can get more pictures but he cant get back the work he put into his account he has to start again.
I do not hold it against my friend he has done me a great favour getting sharks for this challenge of mine, he has made a mistake and he regrets it, friendship is far more important than a few pictures, he will continue to help me and I will continue to help him, he wont mind me calling him a MUPPET, in fact I only call my friend noobs, I never call anyone else noobs, probably because there are so many I would be calling it all day.
I will make a post dedicated to the word noob later.

Wood cutting for fun

For some idea I had the mad notion to do some wood cutting, I have heard that the best for xp is willows, so i set off and started chopping willows by Draynor village, The logs here are not wasted I fletch them and sell to the shop so I get woodcutting xp, fletching xp and a small amount of money.

My dragon wood cutting axe draws too much attention, I either ignore everyone or agree to sell it to them for 4m, that normally shuts them up for 5 minutes or so.

I got bored of them so went to Varrock and started on the oaks by the west bank, xp seems to be a lot quicker than willows and I can use the logs for construction, because xp was so quick I decided to get my next woodcutting level, I spent all morning there and got thousands of logs and eventually got 85 woodcutting.
My son joined me and kept giving me his tree seeds from birds nests, I gave him my rabbits foot charm to help them along.

The most exciting part of the day a tree spirit, I ran away after I got the screenie because I had no armour or prayer.

Cooking for Life.
There are plenty of people with 99 in a stat or 2, even some low level players have a stat at level 99 and can wear the cape for that skill, I have not been bothered with getting a skill to 99 and have trained my skills until I can do the best thing in that skill, I am not the type of player who likes attention and seeing the amount of people with skill capes getting asked to do the emote is another reason not to get one.
Having just got another level in cooking I decided I would like to go for the cooking cape and get 99 cooking, I will probably just wear the cape for a day or 2 but its a challenge that is easily reachable, cooking is without doubt the easiest skill to raise to 99 that is why there are so many cook capes around and very few agility.

I am not very good at buying things on Runescape in bulk, I am very lucky that I have a very good friend that is an expert in such matters, he has taken on the task on a voluntary basis and enjoys getting the items I require for the best price, I would have stood no chance of getting level 99 quickly without his help, I do not take advantage of peoples time and effort and he will be rewarded.
So I am going to be in the rogues den for a long time now, just showing my face to collect sharks and to get a breath of fresh air.
Watch this space for more exciting updates.
